The lights are either cool or too bright at night depending on your situation. I haven't had any problem with this charger over the past 4 months. It works as advertised charging both the phone and back up battery. But that is about the only problem I have had. Too bad you can use your wired headset or wired speakers when the unit is charging.
1st one I received did not charge. 2nd one seems to be working ok so far.
This has been great. I can charge my Treo and still use it AND charge my extra battery. I love it.
